How the period works

Membership runs in rolling 30-day periods from your start date, not calendar months. Your invoice arrives at the start of each period. Join on the 12th and your periods run the 12th to the 11th, with every renewal 30 days after the last.

Other charges
Pausing your membership — $30 administration fee (cl. 4.4)
Replacing a lost access credential — quoted at cost
Damage you’re responsible for — at cost, under the procedure in cl. 12.4
Disposing of abandoned property — reasonable cost (cl. 11.3)

Fabrication

All fabrication is run by our team (agreement cl. 6). Residents pay half the public rate. We confirm every job and give you an estimate before starting anything chargeable.

Sheet materials for laser work: bring your own, or ask us to source it and we’ll quote before buying
Anything you supply must be identified to us and approved before we run it (Schedule B)
Bench consumables and art supplies are included in Regular and Resident membership, within reasonable use

When a job fails
Our fault — power, adhesion, a mechanical failure, our slicing or setup: we re-run it at our cost
Your design: materials are chargeable, and we’ll tell you which flaw caused it
We flagged a concern and you asked us to proceed: materials are chargeable

House & safety rules

These form part of the Membership Agreement. Breaking them seriously or repeatedly is grounds for termination under cl. 15.2. We’ll walk you through all of it at your induction.

Access hoursAll plans
Weekdays
6:30 – 11:00pm
Weekends
3:00 – 11:00pm · every day, no dark days

B1 · The machines are ours to run

Do not switch on, adjust, load, unload, pause or restart any of these:

FDM 3D printers
Resin 3D printers, wash and cure stations
Laser cutter and its extraction
Vinyl cutter, heat press, A3+ printer
Any other fabrication machine we point out at your induction

B2 · Hand tools are yours

During any access hours, including when no staff are present:

Benches and cutting mats
Paint stations and the airbrush booth
Soldering irons
Hand tools
Art supplies and bench consumables

B3 · Materials we can’t accept

Never bring these in, and never submit them for a job:

PVC and any chlorine-containing plastic. Lasering it produces chlorine gas, which harms people and destroys the machine
PTFE, polycarbonate and ABS for laser work
Fibreglass and carbon fibre
Anything coated, treated or laminated with something you can’t identify
Any material whose composition you don’t know. If you can’t name it, we can’t run it

B4 · Ventilation and PPE
Run the extraction whenever you’re painting, airbrushing, sanding or using solvents
Nitrile gloves for solvents, resins and adhesives — provided at the bench
Eye protection for cutting, sanding and anything under tension
Airbrush in the booth, not at an open bench
Soldering: extraction on, iron back in its stand every time you put it down, and switched off at the wall when you finish
Unused isopropanol and solvents go back in the cabinet, capped. Anything contaminated or spent, leave for staff to deal with

B5 · Working when nobody’s here
Sign in when you arrive and sign out when you leave — we’ll show you how at your induction
Keep your phone on you and charged, not in a bag or another room
Know where the first aid kit, extinguisher, fire blanket and exit are before you start
No guests when the lab is unstaffed
If you’re soldering alone, tell someone you’re here and keep the extraction running
Last one out: shutdown checklist, extraction off, lights, lock up

B6 · Storage
Residents get one 30cm storage bay, kept between visits
On Regular, Drop-in and the trial, work goes home with you
Label anything you leave with your name and the date
Flammable liquids live in the flammables cabinet, in the quantities we agree with you
No compressed gases, food, or anything perishable

B7 · Consumables

Included within reasonable use: paint, brushes, adhesives, abrasives, blades, tape and general bench supplies.

Logged and charged: filament, resin, sheet materials, vinyl, transfer media and specialist finishes. We’ll show you how to log them at your induction.

Taking a charged consumable without logging it is theft under cl. 12.8, not an oversight.

B8 · Before you leave
Clear your bench and wipe it down
Tools go back where you found them
Soldering iron off at the wall and cool before you go
Solvent-soaked rags go in the metal bin, never general waste
Resin and isopropanol waste is handled by staff — leave it at the bench and tell us, never pour it down the sink
Tell us about anything you broke, spilt or used up — including when nobody saw

B9 · Guests

One guest per visit, during staffed hours only. Sign them in, keep them with you in the shared areas, and don’t let them operate anything. You’re responsible for what they do and for anything they damage.

Schedule B · HR-v1.0 · 6 September 2026 — changes take effect 30 days after notice by email (agreement cl. 1.3)
